CONTINUOUS PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT

Gedore Tools has been manufacturing quality hand tools in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal, since 1965.

Traditionally the forging process involves the use of continuously-fired furnaces to bring blanks up to forging temperature. However, by today's standards, this type of heating is inefficient and wasteful and it can easily have a negative influence on the metallurgical properties of the steel blanks.

In line with the company's mission statement of continuous product improvement, Gedore Tools have invested in a multi-million rand, latest technology induction furnace, which was developed and purpose built at the German parent company. During this specialised induction heating process, the steel is rapidly heated to the required forging temperature, thereby preventing oxidisation of the steel. This results in far superior metallographic properties.

Since the modern induction furnace is not running continuously, lower heating costs, less pollution and ultimately a reduced carbon footprint are achieved.

Gedore Tools Catalogue 2010

We have pleasure in introducing our 2010 priced catalogue to you.

Our new catalogue has been extended significantly and now offers an increased range of products and services.

In particular, and in response to a growing demand for technical support and personalized solutions to customer specific problems, Gedore Tools SA (Pty) Ltd is pleased to introduce the Gedore Solutions program.

The concept of Gedore Solutions characterizes those products and services which are by nature either specialized or customized and therefore require a different approach to sales and distribution in the market.

Our sales approach with these products will differ in that we will apply specially trained staff to market and support these products.

Our supply will be through the existing distribution network but Gedore will work even closer with the end-user, where required, to define the specific requirements of the customer and to ensure that their needs are met during the course of the business relationship.

The block diagram below depicts how this concept interfaces with the existing
Gedore program.

Torque Solutions
We offer a range of torque measuring tools, torque application tools, torque calibration equipment and end fittings for the various industrial sectors which require reliable bolted joint connections. 

Gedore Tools SA now has a SANAS approved testing laboratory traceable to national standards and torque wrenches can be calibrated to a SANAS level of compliance.

Puller Solutions
We offer a range of pullers to assist in removing a range of bearings and fittings with ease.

Automotive Solutions
We now offer specialized tooling technology to facilitate improved productivity in the automotive maintenance sector by supplying products from a Gedore group company called Klann Spezial GmbH.

Apprentice Training Solutions
We now offer to equip today’s apprentices with quality tool kits so that tomorrow’s artisans can perform their chosen trade with confidence and professionalism. 

Customized Workshop Solutions
We now offer a range of standard sheetmetal products which can be customized to suit your specific workshop requirements.  These products are manufactured in our new sheetmetal factory which is equipped with a modern powder coating facility allowing for quick colour-changes of the products.
